Tsubasa

Tsubasa are a set of giant metal fans that convert into a pair of wings capable of granting flight when they use dust. They are wielded by Shiro Suzume, a member of team MASK.

Appearance: White hair, opal eyes, white feathers in her hair, and a feathery bird’s tail.

History: Shiro grew up with a group of travelling faunus circus performers, putting on shows and attractions all across Vale. One day, however, the circus was attacked by an anti-Faunus hate-group, and her family was killed. Terrified, Shiro fled the destruction and getting lost in town, where she was discovered by Professor Ozpin and invited to Beacon for protection, where she learned to use her talents to defend herself and build her own weapon. Though she was held back a year, she eventually enrolled as a student among the first years.

Personality: Shy and timid, dislikes strangers, but very kind and gentle towards her friends. Suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder from the murder of her family in the circus, and strongly distrusts most humans. She still enjoys dancing on stage, which gives her the liberty to express herself without having to truly interact with her spectators.

Semblance: Wind – Shiro is light on her feet, can us create gusts of wind as well as propel herself across distances through the air even without the use of her weapon.  Her aura is white.

History: Originally a stage prop, Shiro used a set of giant fans in her dance routine. Heavily modified after she applied to beacon, she is now able to use them for combat, as well as attach them to her back on a harness she wears while fighting, channeling her aura through them to move them like wings. While in wing form, they can telescope in size and project her aura outward, giving her tremendous reach. She can only glide with them normally, but with the power of dust, they can even grant her the ability to fly.
